How to use the FAQ page template

The eComm Performance theme includes an 'FAQ' page template, which will allow you to answer the most commonly asked questions about your company, policies, and more. Your customers will be able to have easy access to read through all of the information.

This page is a great place to put any questions related to shipping and order information because these are some of the top questions from customers.

Setting up FAQs

Step 1: Make sure you have eComm Performance published to access the new page template.

Step 2: Head into Online Store > Pages > Add Page

Step 3: Select "page.faq" as the Template > Template Suffix:

Step 4: Head into Customize Theme and navigate to your FAQ page.

Step 5: In Sections > FAQ > Content you can add your Questions and Answers:

Step 6: To add additional FAQs, click the "Add FAQ" button!

Step 7: In Sections > FAQ > Content you can choose to add in a Heading which will group the questions following into its own section:

Unpublished themes

Unfortunately, one limitation of how Shopify works is that if the theme you are using is not published, you won't be able to select the page.faq template. In some cases, your existing theme may have a page.faq template. However, if your eComm Performance theme is not published, any changes you make may not be saved properly.

You can add your FAQs on a standard page and put a "coming soon" message as a placeholder.

Once your eComm Performance theme is live, go in and change the page template to page.faq, and then you can use the customize theme editor to set up your questions. Once you have that set up in the collapsable panels, go back to your page editor and delete any temporary text that you added.

You should also be aware that while you are in the process of setting up your FAQ page, any visitors to your site will be able to view the placeholder text that you have on your page. Any visitors will be able to see it until you delete it manually.
